RAMAPO COMES BACK TO DEFEATS OLD WESTBURY IN OT, 3-2

Box Score Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's soccer team defeated non-conference rival the College at Old Westbury, 3-2 in overtime. The Roadrunners improve to 2-5 overall while the Panthers fall to 2-3.

Old Westbury scored early in the first half to take a 2-0 lead with goals from JoAnna Kettell (1:11) and Jordan Schildt (5:49).

Sophomore Autumn Herring scored her second goal of the season in the 27th minute of the game to cut the Panther lead in half, 1-2. She was assisted by Brittany Mancini. Neither team could hit the back of the net in the final minutes of the first half. The Roadrunners out shot the Panthers, 15-3 in the first half. They also held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks in the half.

In the second half, the Roadrunners tied the game with a goal from sophomore Jaimie Towey as she was assisted by senior Katie Popowych in the 55th minute of the game, 2-2. Each team had the chance to score in regulation but both goalies made stops.

In the overtime period, Ramapo out shot the Panthers, 5-0, before Popowych hit the back of the net off a pass from rookie Brooke Miller for the game winning golden goal with 98:41on the clock.

Senior Talia Auslin posted three saves in the game while the Roadrunner out shot the Panthers, 34-7.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, September 21st at 1pm, when they travel to #4 the College of New Jersey for the for NJAC match-up of the season.
