Box Score Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team dropped their final regular season game, 54-42, at NJAC rival William Paterson University. The Pioneers improve to 19-6 overall and 12-4 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners fall to 17-8 overall and 10-6 in the conference.
The Pioneers were led by Floriana Borova who scored 36 points, as she was 11-25 from the field including six three-point baskets. Borova was also 8-8 from the foul line and tallied seven steals while junior Dana Jeter grabbed 12 rebounds and three blocks. Junior Ashley Marfo led the team with 15 rebounds and Kristine Jackiewicz added 12 points for WPU. The Pioneer defense forced 28 Ramapo turnovers while they shot 27% (18-65) from the field, 43% (7-16) from beyond the three-point line and 73% (11-15) from the foul line.
The Roadrunners were led by junior
Micaela Moore who grabbed 15 rebounds and scored ten points while senior
Faith Flannery tallied nine points, five rebounds and two steals. Sophomores
Kerrie Kosakowski and
Alex Milne contributed with six and five points respectively in the game. Ramapo shot 22% (11-49) from the field while they went 18-25 (72%) from the foul line.
The Roadrunners finish tied with Rutgers-Newark University at 10-6 overall in the conference standings. The Scarlet Raiders swept Ramapo during the regular season, allowing Rutgers-Newark to hold the tie-breaker over the Roadrunners. Ramapo earns the #5 seed in the upcoming NJAC Women's Basketball Tournament and will travel to #4 Rutgers-Newark this Saturday for a 7:00pm game.
