Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team defeated John Jay College today, 9-0, in a non-conference game at the Athletic Center.
The Roadrunners improve to 7-9 overall while the the Bloodhounds fall to 4-13 overall.
Four different Roadrunners scored in the first half for a 4-0 lead heading into the second half.
Brooke Miller scored her first collegiate goal of her career off a pass from
Katie Popowych to put Ramapo up, 1-0 in the 11th minute of the game (10:05).
Nicole Ninomiya scored off a cross from
Liz Samimi in the 17th minute (16:07) before Popowych tallied her team leading sixth goal of the game off a pass from
Kelsey Sutherland (33:35).
Melanie Bertoli ripped a shot from 25-yards out that hit the back of the net for her first goal of the season. The Roadrunners posted 33 shots in the first half, 14 on goal.
Ramapo scored five goals in the second half. Ninomiya tallied the first goal of the half and the final goal to earn her first career hat trick.

Jaimie Towey and Popowych all tallied goals in the second half while Popowych, Ninomiya and
Campbell Duffy each recorded assists.
Talia Auslin and
Itati Aburto split time in the net for the Roadrunners who posted their third shutout of the season, neither had to make a stop in the game.
Andrea Antoni collected 22 saves in the game for John Jay. Ramapo recorded 32 shots on goal and tallied 13 corner kicks in the game.
The Roadrunners return to action on on Saturday, October 26th when they host NJAC rival Rutgers-Camden University at 1pm. Ramapo will honor their senior class in a pre-game ceremony prior to the start of the game.
