Box Score Newark, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team posted a 2-0 shutout road win against NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark University tonight at Alumni Field.
The Roadrunners improve to 6-9 overall, 3-4 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raiders fall to 5-11 overall, 1-6 in the conference.
Ramapo's
Jaimie Towey connected off a pass from
Katie Popowych in the second half of the game (59:12), the eventual game winning goal. The Roadrunners would score an insurance goal when Popowych (64:52) took a long pass from
Brooke Miller as she was able to slip her shot past the Scarlet Raider keeper for a 2-0 lead.
The Roadrunners held a 11-9 advantage in shots in the game along with a 3-1 margin in corner kicks.
Talia Auslin posted three saves in the game, all in the second half.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host John Jay on Wednesday, October 23rd at 4pm.
