Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University, 5-4 today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners stand at 1-0 overall, 1-0 in the conference while the Pioneers start the season, 0-1, 0-1 in the NJAC.
After coming out of doubles play with no team points, Ramapo came back to defeat the Pioneers with five wins in singles action.
Sara Luby picked up a win at second singles, 6-3, 6-2 while
Stephanie Abrecht, playing at third singles won 6-2, 6-4.
Katrina Biss defeated Kristy Daubert 6-2, 6-1at fourth singles and
Micala Demchak took home a win at fifth singles over Mary Skretkowicz, 6-3, 6-3.
Ivy Schuckman earned her first win of the season at sixth singles,6-0, 6-1.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, September 7th at home against NJAC foe Rutgers-Camden University at 3:30 pm.
