SANBORN LEADS RAMAPO OVER TCNJ

Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team extended their win streak to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) with a 78-58 win over conference rival the College of New Jersey (2-6, 1-4).

The Roadrunners took a 44-36 lead into the locker room at half-time. Ramapo and TCNJ traded baskets before the Lions went up by six, 12-6 (13:41), on a made jumper by Joe Kane. Ramapo then went on a 6-0 run capped off by two made foul shots by Stephon Treadwell to tie the game at 12 with 13:09 on the clock. The lead changed eight times before Ramapo took the lead with 4:18 on a made three pointer by Will Sanborn, he was assisted by Patrick O'Connell to take a 32-30 lead. They went on an 8-0 run which was capped off by jumper from Treadwell with 3:09 on the clock to take a 37-30 advantage. Their biggest lead of the first half came with 1:06, 44-34 when Sanborn sank another three pointer. He was assisted by Anthony LoRusso.

The Roadrunners shot 60% (15-25) from the field in the first half while they shot 66% (10-15) from the foul line. The Lions shot 48% (16-33) from the field while they did not go to the charity stripe in the first half.

Ramapo kept the lead the entire second half, taking their biggest lead, 69-48 (5:08), on a made basket by Garret Thiel. TCNJ went on an 8-0 run capped off by a layup from Matthew Rista with 2:04 left in the game, 69-56 before Ramapo pulled away with a 78-58 victory.

Sanborn finished the game with 18 points and eight rebounds while Thiel and Treadwell tallied 14 points a piece. O'Connell added seven points and a team high four assists while Elgin Brown added ten points and nine rebounds. The Roadrunners shot 52% (29-55) from the field and 40% (6-15) from beyond the three point line. Ramapo also shot 73% (14-19) from the charity stripe and they out rebounded the Lions 36-27.

TCNJ's Alex Fox led the team with 15 points while Skyelar Ettin added 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday when they host NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark University at 7:30 PM.
