Newark, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team remained undefeated in the NJAC with a 8-1 win over Rutgers Newark University. The Roadrunners now stand at 4-1 overall, 2-0 in the conference while the Scarlet Raiders fall to 2-1, 1-1.
Ramapo swept doubles action to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.
Jywel Almirante won at second singles, 6-2, 6-2 while Hayley Dowling took third single's one of the closest matches of the night, 6-3, 6-4.
Nicole Pitts swept at the fourth position, 6-0, 6-0 while
Brittany Pitts won, 8-3 and
Stephanie Abrecht won at sixth singles, 6-1, 6-1.
The Roadrunners return to the court tomorrow afternoon when they host Saint Thomas Aquinas College at 3:30 PM.
