Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team came away with a 7-2 New Jersey Athletic Conference win over William Paterson University. The Roadrunners now stand at 3-1 overall, 1-0 in the NJAC while this was the first match for the Pioneers on the year.
In doubles play, Ramapo came away with two points as they picked up wins at first and second doubles.
Brittany Pitts and
Laura Strandberg recorded a close 9-7 win at first doubles while
Nicole Pitts and
Jywel Almirante handled their opponent at second doubles, 8-1.
Almirante, N. Pitts and B. Pitts all won their singles matches while
Stephanie Abrecht won at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-1 and
Maegan Heaney won at sixth singles, 6-1. 6-4.
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow on the road against NJAC foe Rutgers-Newark in a key NJAC match-up starting at 5:00pm.
