Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team defeated NJAC foe Kean University, 8-1 today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 10-2 overall and 5-1 in the conference while the Cougars fall to 7-4 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
The Roadrunners swept doubles play before moving onto singles action.
Laura Strandberg defeated Lauren Petrucelli, 6-2, 6-3 at first singles while
Jywel Almirante won at second singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Nicole Pitts, Haley Downing and
Stephanie Abrecht all won their singles matches to propel the Roadrunners to their NJAC win. Ramapo finishes in second place for the third straight season behind 29-time defending NJAC Champions the College of New Jersey.
