Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's team handed the Hawks of Hunter College only it's second loss of the season today at the Athletic Center, 5-4. The Roadrunners improve to 9-5 while the Hawks now stand at 13-2 overall.
The Roadrunners only had one point coming out of doubles play when
Jywel Almirante (Newton, NJ) and
Erin Gerhard (Cape May, NJ) teamed up at third doubles to shutout Nora Millman and Olga Chagin, 8-0.
At third singles, Almirante came away with a, 6-1, 6-1 win over Jessica Yi while
Alison Tukel (Morris Plains, NJ) defeated Ericka Jaramillo, 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles. Ramapo picked up two more points in singles play when Gerhard defeated Nora Millman, 6-2, 6-3 and
Nicole Pitts (Pompton Lakes, NJ) picked up a win at sixth singles over Olga Chagin, 6-2, 6-1.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to Gwynedd-Mercy College on April 10th at noon.
