Pomona, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team clinched second place for the second year in a row with a 6-3 win over NJAC rival Richard Stockton College today. The Roadrunners improve to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the conference while the Ospreys fall to 2-5 overall, 1-2 in the NJAC. 
The Roadrunners who were picked to finish third in the conference took two games from the Ospreys in doubles action. 
Stephanie Abrecht (Manasquan, NJ) and 
Hayley Downing (Cliffside Park, NJ) defeated Brittany Hall and Christina Ledwith, 8-3 at second doubles. 
Jywel Almirante (Newton, NJ) and 
Erin Gerhard (Cape May, NJ) posted a 8-2 score over Jaclyn Britton and Slone Portner at third doubles. 
Almirante picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at second singles over Krystle Bendijo while 
Brittany Pitts (Pompton Lakes, NJ) defeated Ledwith, 7-5, 6-3 at fourth singles. Downing and Abrecht tallied wins at fifth (6-1, 6-1) and sixth (6-0, 6-2) singles respectively.
The Roadrunners finish the 2010 NJAC season in second place after posting a 4-1 record overall for the second straight year. NJAC foe the College of New Jersey won its 28th consecutive NJAC crown earlier in the season after going undefeated at 5-0.
The Roadrunners return to action on October 12th at 3:30 PM when they host East Stroudsburg University.
