Deanna Giordano (Clifton, NJ) fired a two-hit shutout to lead the #4 Roadrunners over the #1 Rowan University Profs in the second round of the NJAC Softball Tournament.
The Roadrunners now stand at 26-10 overall while the Profs fall to 31-9.

Danielle Rothenberger (Livingston, NJ) got Ramapo on the board in the bottom of the first inning when she ripped a one-out triple to center field to pick up two RBI. Junior
Katie Donnelly (North Haledon, NJ) and sophomore
Rachel Wong (Livingston, NJ) both came around to score as Donnelly reached on a double to lead off the inning before Wong walked.
In the fourth inning they tacked on another run as rookie
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) walked and stole second before sophomore
Brittney McKeon (Toms River, NJ) singled up the middle to plate Fischer, 3-0.
Giordano picked up her 15th win of the season as she struck out seven in the complete game shut out while walking none.
Donnelly was 2-4 with one runs scored and Rothenberger was 2-3 with two RBI.
Senior pitcher Jackie Sasko (Groveville, NJ) took the loss for Rowan, falling to 18-4 on the season, she struck out five and walked four and only gave up four hits over four innings of work. Rookie Amanda Singer (Monmouth Jct., NJ) pitched the final two innings as she struck out two and walked one.
The Roadrunners and Profs will wait to see who they play tomorrow as the remainder of the bracket will depend on the outcome of the 4:00 PM game which includes #2 William Paterson University and #3 The College of NJ.
