New York, NY: The Ramapo College men's basketball team opened up the 2009-2010 season with a victory as they defeated the City College of New York, 95-83 on the road.
The Roadrunners (1-0) led 45-31 at halftime against the Beavers (0-2).
Senior captain
Isaiah Lynch (Linden, NJ) recorded 16 points as he went 7-11 from the field. He also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists in 24 minutes of play.
Rookie
Travis Conyers (Jersey City, NJ) posted 16 points (6-10) in his collegiate debut. He went 3-4 from the foul line while tallying two assists and two steals. Sophomore captain
Anthony LoRusso (Mahwah, NJ) posted ten points and three assists in the win while sophomore
Garret Thiel (Middletown, NJ) recorded twelve points.
Sophomore
LaQuan Peterkin (Paterson, NJ) grabbed six rebounds and tallied 11 points while sophomore
Davian Plunkett (Paterson, NJ) recorded a team high 11 rebounds.
The Roadrunners shot 61% from the field and 67% from the foul line in their first game of the season.
Ramapo will return to action on Saturday, November 21st as they host Yeshiva College at 8:00 PM in the Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament. Berkeley will face off against Wentworth at 5:30 PM. The championship game will be played on Sunday, November 22nd at 3:00 PM and the consolation game will be played at 1:00 PM.
