ROADRUNNERS DEFEATED, 86-50 IN NJAC MATCH-UP

Union, NJ:  Junior guard Olivia Triano (Keyport, N.J.) scored a career-high 16 points to lead four players in double-figures, as the Kean University women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College, 86-50, in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Junior forward Danielle Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.) finished with a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for the #22/23 Cougars (11-3, 4-0 NJAC), while junior center Beth Weinmann (Pompton Plains, N.J.) had nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks to lead the Roadrunners (6-8, 1-3 NJAC).

After opening the game on an 11-0 run, the Cougars scored the final eight points of the half to take a 49-22 lead into halftime, as five different players scored at least seven points in the first half. Triano, junior guard Alysha Taylor (Galloway, N.J.) and sophomore forward Tiffany Patrick (Piscataway, N.J.) each scored nine points, while Brown grabbed nine boards and Patrick made five steals in the opening half.

The Cougars connected on 47.2 percent (17-of-36) of their shots and limited Ramapo to just 23.1 percent shooting (6-of-26) in the first half, as freshman forward Lindsey Gripenburg (Bloomingdale, N.J.) scored seven points in the first half to lead the Roadrunners.

In the second half, the Cougars extended the lead out to 43 points en-route to the 36-point victory, while also scoring at least 80 points for the sixth time this season and second time in as many games.

Triano hit 5-of-8 shots from the floor and added a pair of blocks off the bench, while Brown also added three blocks. Junior guard Cardiss Jackman (Tobyhanna, Pa.) added 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals and senior guard Ebony Jackson (Newark, N.J.) chipped in with 12 points and three assists. Patrick nearly missed a double-double, finishing with nine points, nine rebounds and a game-high six steals.

Gripenburg added nine points and seven rebounds for Ramapo, while junior guard Chardae Moreno (Clifton, N.J.) added eight points and two steals off the bench.
