#17 RAMAPO SWEEPS STOCKON IN NJAC MATCH-UP

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team swept a NJAC conference double header today over Stockton College at the Athletic Center to improve to 29-7 overall and 11-3 in the conference while the Ospreys fall to 21-11 overall and 5-9 in the conference.

Ramapo took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when sophomore Katie Donnelly (North Haledon, NJ) was hit by a pitch and stole second before junior Kelly Schriber (Montclair, NJ) ripped a single to right-center field to put the Roadrunners ahead.

Stockton College would tie the game in the top of the second inning when Jamie Heller (Fair Lawn, NJ) knocked in Lindsay Connell (Rahway, NJ) who reached on an error earlier in the inning.

The Roadrunners would take the lead back in the bottom of the fifth inning. Donnelly ripped a RBI triple to right field scoring sophomore Jamie Chalkley (West Milford, NJ) who reached on a single to left field to lead off the inning. Donnelly would later score on a pass ball for a 3-1 lead.

Senior Katie Norton (Livingston, NJ) and the Ramapo defense would hold on for a 3-1 victory. Norton improves to 10-3, striking out three and walking none.

Donnelly was 2-2 with two runs scored and one RBI while Chalkley and Schriber each had one hit a piece.

Stockton College out hit Ramapo in game one, 6-4, Heller picked up two hits for the Ospreys.

In game two, rookie Deanna Giordano (Clifton, NJ) surrendered only two hits for her seventh win of the season in the complete game shutout.

Ramapo would get the only run they would need in the first inning when senior Lauren Cascino (New Windsor, NY) ripped a single to left field to plate Donnelly who singled to lead off for a 1-0 lead.

Junior Amanda Sansevere (West Keansburg, NJ) ripped a double to left field before senior Tara Eagel (Ocean Twp., NJ) hit a sacrifice bunt to move Sansevere to third base. Pinch hitter rookie Cherese Matthews (Pequannock, NJ) hit a sacrifice fly to right field to pick up the RBI and put Ramapo up 2-0.

Ramapo would score four more times pounding out eleven hits over the next five innings for a 6-0 victory.

Rookie Brittney McKeon (Toms River, NJ), Schriber, junior Marilee Farmer (Toms River, NJ) and Sansevere each had two hits for Ramapo while Matthews was 2-2 with three RBI on the day.

Ramapo returns to action as they travel to NJAC foe New Jersey City University on Tuesday, April 22nd for a 3:00 PM double header.
