ROOKIES CONNECT TO PUSH RAMAPO PAST MANHATTANVILLE, 1-0
Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team defeated the Valiants of Manhattanville College, 1-0 today in a non-conference match-up in Mahwah. With the win the Roadrunners improve to 8-4-1 overall while the Valiants remain defeated falling to 0-10-2.
In the first half, rookie Melissa Demko (East Brunswick, NJ) connected on a pass from fellow rookie Kimberly Bruno (Middletown, NJ) just under 17 minutes into the game to give the Roadrunners a 1-0 edge with her eighth goal of the year. The goal stood strong for the final 73 minutes earning the Roadrunners their eighth win of the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica DaRold (Sayreville, NJ) blocked three shots while rookie Ali Bromson (Suffield, CT) stopped six Ramapo shots, letting up the lone goal in the full 90 minutes of play. The Roadrunners out-shot the Valiants 13-6 in the victory.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 6th when they host the College of Stanten Island at 1:00 PM in a non-conference match-up at the Athletic Center.
