Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team defeated William Paterson, 8-1 today at the Athletic Center in Mahwah. Ramapo improves to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference heading into tomorrow's match-up with Rutgers Newark at noon. William Paterson falls to 1-4 overall, 0-1 in the conference.

The Roadrunners swept doubles match-ups with Hollis Grant (East Brunswick, NJ) and Lindsay Gerhard (Cape May, NJ) pairing up at first doubles posted an 8-5 victory over William Paterson's Evonne Tan (Wayne, NJ) and Alima Williams (Somerdale, NJ). Liza Wyble (Millville, NJ) and Jennifer Murphy (Whiting, NJ) earned an 8-2 victory at the second spot before Becky Drexl (Franklin, NJ) and Ashley Wnek (Colonia, NJ) wrapped up doubles action with an 8-1 win over the Pioneers' pair.

William Paterson's Tan posted the lone point for the Pioneers with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Grant at first singles. Gerhard recorded a 6-1, 6-1 second singles victory over Meghan Ludgate of William Paterson and Alison Tukel (Morris Plains, NJ) followed earning a singles victory of her own, 6-1, 6-0. Jenn Finaldi (West Milford, NJ) posted a fourth singles win, 6-0, 6-2 and Wyble and Murphy wrapped up the match posted 6-0, 6-0 shutout victories.
