The Roadrunners didn't waste any time taking charge of their NJAC tournament game. In the bottom of the first inning, senior center fielder
Erica Moore (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) launched a leadoff home run to left center to extend her program single-season record to 11. The next batter, senior left fielder
Andrea Pastiglione (S. California, CA/Hunterdon) added another home run to the same location off Profs senior ace Colleen Oswald (Sewell, NJ/Paulsboro).
Ramapo was just getting started offensively. Junior designated player
Becky Pollak (Branchville, NJ/High Point Regional) followed with a double, senior catcher
Lisa Rizzo (Dumont, NJ/Dumont) drew a walk and sophomore third baseman
Lauren Cascino (New Windsor, NY/Cornwall Central) loaded the bases with a single to left. Choma, the sixth batter of the inning, cleared the bases with a grand slam to right-center field, her fifth home run of the season.
The Roadrunners added five more runs in the second inning on four hits, including a three-run homer by Rizzo and a two-run shot by junior shortstop
Michele Rossi (Emerson, NJ/Emerson).
Choma added an RBI single in the fourth inning and finished the day 3-for-3 with two runs and five RBIs. Pastiglione and Cascino each had two of the Roadrunners' 11 hits, while Rizzo had three RBIs and Rossi added two.
Rowan scored its lone run in the third when the Profs collected three of their four hits off winning pitcher
Marissa Marino (Wayne, NJ/Wayne). Rowan junior first baseman Jamie Assini (Deptford, NJ/East Brunswick) plated the run with a single to left.
Marino (11-4) hurled a four-hitter, allowing one earned run and two walks. She struck out one.
Oswald, who dips to 30-2, worked 1.1 innings, allowing seven hits, two walks and nine earned runs. She fanned one.
