Pomona, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team faced the Ospreys of Richard Stockton College tonight in Pomona in a NJAC match-up. The Roadrunners strugged falling 29-72 dropping to 6-9 overall, 2-7 in the conference. Stockton improves to 12-2 overall, 8-1 in the NJAC.
The Roadrunners were held to just three points in the first half of playing sinking just 1-22 from the field, (4.5%). Ramapo improved in the second half hitting 10-31 (32%) but were unable to get back in the game falling 29-72 in Pomona. Stockton's Lisa Zak (Beachwood, NJ) led the Ospreys with 18 points and nine rebounds. Alicia Morris (Easthampton, NJ) had 16 points, as well as 16 rebounds and Danielle Walder (Jobstown, NJ) also had 16 points.
For the Roadrunners,
Keona Palmer (Port Reading, NJ) led the way netting 15 points with seven rebounds and one steal while rookie
Tiffany China (West Orange, NJ) followed with six points and four boards. Senior
Kelly Bartz (Madison, NJ) grabbed five steals and four boards in the loss.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, January 21st when they take on the Gothic Knights at 1:00 PM at the Bradley Center.
