RAMAPO SNAPS TCNJ’S WIN STREAK AT NINE GAMES AFTER POSTING AN 88-82 ROAD WIN OVER THE LIONS IN MEN’S BASKETBALL

Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey men's basketball team hosted the Roadrunners of Ramapo College in Packer Hall on Saturday, only to fall for the first time at home all season. Ramapo tallied the 88-82 road win over the No. 15 ranked Lions. The win for Ramapo snaps the Lions' nine-game win streak as well as the squad's six-game home unbeaten streak. Ramapo improves to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in the NJAC, while TCNJ drops to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Ramapo's senior guard Amin Wright (Jersey City , NJ /Ferris) led the way for the Roadrunners with 16 points as five players finished with double digits in the win. Wright added 10 second half points to pace his team to the win.

TCNJ's senior forward Derick Grant (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) added 18 of game-high 25 points in the first half as the Lions held a 41-40 halftime lead. Ramapo opened with a 14-6 lead with 16:31 to play in the first half, before the Lions would collect their first lead of the game at 11:58, 18-17. The Lions shot a blistering 90.9% from the free throw line in the first half (10-11).

Ramapo's sophomore Antonie Pryor (Elizabeth , NJ /Saint Patrick) had nine first half points for the Roadrunners, including three of the squad's six three pointers. Ramapo managed to hit 6-of-12 three pointers in the first half, while holding the Lions to just 30.0% from down town (3-10). Pryor finished with 14 points, while senior guard Benjamin Allen (Clifton , NJ /Clifton ) collected 12 points. Both junior guard Quameir Harding (Jersey City , NJ /Ferris) and senior forward Eliazar Velez (West New York , NJ /Memorial) added 10 points for Ramapo, which is riding a three-game win streak after Saturday's victory.

In the second half after four ties and eight lead changes, Ramapo would take a 83-75 lead with 2:01 left to play. Spurring the run was the trio of Pryor, junior Todd Lowber (Riverside , NJ /Delran) and Wright with field goals.

TCNJ's junior forward Scott Findlay (Long Valley , NJ /West Morris Central) netted a double-double in the contest after adding 21 points and 11 rebounds, including 10 defensive caroms. Junior forward Bobby Davison (Princeton , NJ /Princeton ) added 11 points and eight rebounds, while the Lions' senior guard Kyle Burke (Maywood , NJ /Hackensack ) was held scoreless for the first time all season. In the second half, the Lions hit only two of nine three-pointers and finished the day with a 26.3% three-point field goal average, but managed to hit 21-of-29 free throws.

TCNJ will face Neumann College on January 10 on the road in a 7:00 p.m. non-conference tilt next, while Ramapo will face William Paterson on the road on Januar12 in an 8:00 p.m. NJAC match-up.
