Mahwah , NJ : The Ramapo College women's tennis team dropped the Pioneers of William Paterson, 8-1 today at the Athletic Center in Mahwah. The Roadrunners improve to 7-1 overall, 2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers fall to 1-3 overall, 0-3 in the conference.

In singles action, ANDREA TESTA (West Orange , NJ ) opened the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Elaine Tann (Wayne , NJ ) while ERIN MCDOWELL (Prospect Park , NJ ) followed with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over the Pioneer, Aileen Valente (Toms River, NJ). Evonne Tann (Wayne , NJ ) earned William Paterson's lone victory at 3rd singles, 3-6, 6-1, (7-5), over sophomore MELISSA JUELL (West Milford , NJ ). HOLLIS GRANT (East Brunswick, NJ), LINDSAY GERHARD (Cape May, NJ), and JENNIFER MURPHY (Whiting, NJ) rounded out the single victories posting 6-0, 7-5, 6-2, 6-0, and 6-0, 6-0 wins respectively.

GRANT and MURPHY paired up at 1st doubles earning an 8-5 win while JUELL and ASHLEY WNEK (Colonia , NJ ) shut down the Pioneers pair, 8-5. GERHARD and GABRIELLE GONZALEZ (Middletown , NJ ) recorded a shut out victory over Caitlin Hettinger (Pompton Plains , NJ ) and Joanna Fabiano (Brick Township , NJ ), 8-0 helping the Roadrunners to their 8-1 victory.

The Roadrunners will host Caldwell College tomorrow at noon .
