Mahwah , NJ : The Greyhounds of Moravian College defeated the Roadrunners of Ramapo, 1-0 today in Mahwah advancing to the 2004 NCAA Division III Softball World Series. The Greyhounds enter the World Series at 37-4 overall while Ramapo ends the 2004 season at 35-8.

With bases loaded and no outs in the 3rd inning, Ramapo's senior pitcher Jamie Anzaldi (Clifton , NJ ) walked in, what turned out to be the winning run, giving Moravian a 1-0 lead. To load the bases, Lauren Homa (Chalfont , PA ) led off with a single to left and Jessica Esposito (Madison , NJ ) and Krissy Cianfichi (Warrington , PA ) hit back-to-back infield singles. Senior third baseman, Michelle Micklos (Tuxedo, NY) grabbed a line drive and threw to first posting a double play leaving runners on second and third. Moravian's Janelle Brey (Allentown , PA ) grounded to short ending the inning, 1-0 over Ramapo. The score stood strong advancing Moravian to the World Series.

Sophomore pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ) struck out eight, let up three hits, and held Ramapo to no runs improving to 19-2. Anzaldi ends her senior year at 21-6, striking out four and walking three in seven innings.

Homa went 2-3 with one run while Esposito recorded one hit on two at bats. Cianfichi hit a perfect 1-1 and Heather Bortz (Allentown , PA ) posted the lone RBI in the victory. For the Roadrunners, rookie Michele Rossi (Emerson, NJ) batted 2-2 while Virginia O'Brien (Emerson, NJ) posted one hit on three at bats in the loss.
