Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team played host to Richard Stockton College today at the Athletic Center posting a 8-0 win the a 0-1 loss. Ramapo stands at 17-3 overall, 8-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while Stockton is 13-8-1 overall, 5-5 in the conference.

Game 1: Ramapo scattered eight runs across five innings earning their 17th victory of the season. The Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd when junior LISA RIZZO (Dumont, NJ) walked to lead off the inning and rookie GEMMA CHALKLEY (West Milford, NJ) pinch ran and crossed the plate on a RBI single to center field by senior JAMIE ANZALDI (Clifton, NJ). Ramapo added four more runs in the 3rd when rookie MICHELE ROSI (Emerson, NJ) singled to lead off, MICHELLE MICKLOS (Tuxedo, NY) walked, and ELIZABETH CHOMA (East Brunswick, NJ) doubled with one out scoring ROSSI. CHOMA and PACYNA, who pinch ran for MICKLOS, crossed on a double to center by ANZALDI taking a 4-0 lead. Sophomore ERICA MOORE (Hazlet, NJ) singled to center bringing in VIRGINA O'BRIEN (Emerson, NJ) ending the inning, 5-0 over the Ospreys. Ramapo recorded two in the 4th by ROSSI and RIZZO, and one more in the 5th by COURTNEY GAMBETTA (Woodbridge, NJ) dropping the Ospreys, 8-0 in game one.

ROSSI batted 3-4 with two runs while CHOMA hit 2-2 with one run and on RBI. ANZALDI posted two hits on three at bats including a double. ANZALDI recorded four RBI in the win.

ANZALDI pitched a complete game striking out four and walking none, letting up five hits. She improves to 7-1 on the year. Lauren Genovese (East Brunswick, NJ) recorded the loss in three innings, striking out two and walking five, falling to 5-5.

Game 2: Rookie pitcher MARISSA MARINO (Wayne, NJ) pitched seven innings holding the Ospreys to five hits and no runs while Constance DeSalvo (Bridgeton, NJ) held Ramapo to three hits and no runs across eight innings. The game remained scoreless until the 8th inning when Barabra Kutch (Mt. Holly, NJ) ripped a single to center scoring Mary Ann Busan (Buena, NJ) who walked to lead off the extra inning international tiebreaker. Stockton posted seven hits in the game defeating the Roadrunners 1-0.

Busan hit 2-3 with one run while Kutch went 2-4 with one RBI. For the Roadrunners, ROSSI went 2-3 and CHOMA posted one hit on three at bats.

DeSalvo earned the win improving to 7-2 with seven strikeouts and no walks in eight innings while ANZADLI records the loss in 2/3 innings striking out none and walking one.

Ramapo will host William Paterson on Tuesday, April 13th at 3:00 PM.
