CRUZ DRIVES IN RUN IN 9th TO TAKE GAME OVER ST. THOMAS, 5-4

Osceola, FL: Ramapo College's ALICIA CRUZ (East Brunswick, NJ) drove in senior SHELLIE GUIDER (Jefferson, NJ) in the 9th inning of an international tiebreaker to drop St. Thomas, 5-4 in game one of the day. Ramapo followed with a 1-0 victory over Millikin at the Rebel Spring Games in Osceola, Florida to improve to 5-1 overall.

vs. St. Thomas: Ramapo opened to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st after ANDREA PASTIGLIONE (Southern California, CA) crossed home plate on a RBI single by senior third baseman MICHELLE MICKLOS (Tuxedo, NY). St. Thomas opened the gates n the 2nd with three runs by Mandy Bowlby (Minneapolis), Janet Nagle (Minnetonka), and Kathleen Fitzpatrick (Inver Grove Heights) who drove out three straight doubles to get on base. The Roadrunners closed the gap in the bottom of the inning with a run by ELIZABETH CHOMA (East Brunswick, NJ) who came home as VIRGINIA O'BRIEN (Emerson, NJ) reached on an error. Ramapo tied the game in the 5th as ERICA MOORE (Hazlet, NJ) scored on a passed ball. In the 9th, St. Thomas regained the lead on a sac fly to center by Fitzpatrick and Ramapo took the game in the bottom of the inning with runs by MICKLOS and GUIDER who came home on a double by CHOMA and a single by CRUZ to take the game 5-4 over St. Thomas.

vs. Millikin: Ramapo scored their lone run in the top of the first and held Millikin the entire game earning the shutout victory, 1-0. The run was scored by MOORE who walked to get on base. MOORE was driven in by PASTIGLIONE who ripped a double in the second spot.

Senior pitcher JAMIE ANZALDI (Clifton, NJ) pitched the shutout striking out one, walking one, and letting up only one hit. ANZALDI improves to 4-1 on the year.
