Mahwah , NJ : The Ramapo College men's basketball team flew by the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers Camden, 119-65 in NJAC action today at the Bradley Center in Mahwah. Ramapo improves to 3-1 overall, 2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while Rutgers Camden falls to 0-5 overall, 0-3 in the conference.
The Ramapo College Roadrunners shot 57% from the field (26-46) in the first 20 minutes of play while Rutgers Camden shot 33% (9-27). Ramapo ended the first half 42 points over the Scarlet Raptors after jumping to a 12-1 lead to start the game. Ramapo spread the lead to as many as 44 in the first half while they jumped ahead by as many as 56 in the second half of play.
Junior transfer TODD LOWBER (Riverside, NJ ) led the Roadrunners with a double-double netting a career-high 24 points and ten rebounds. LOWBER shot 9-14 from the field while sinking three out of four from behind the arc. Senior AMIN WRIGHT (Jersey City, NJ ) recorded a double-double of his own sinking 16 points and grabbing 12 boards. JOHN WOJCIK (Sayreville, NJ ) and AHMAD MOSBY (Jersey City, NJ ) posted 15 and 13 points respectively while rookie SHAWN FROST (Newark, NJ ) dropped in 12 points while bringing down 11 total rebounds. WOJCIK shot 5-8 from behind the arc and recorded three steals in the win.
For the Scarlet Raptors, Amir Fantroyal (Sickerville, NJ ) led the team posting 17 points shooting 6-10 from the field, 1-4 from behind the arc while Paul Turkot (Haddon Township, NJ ) and Kenny Yu (Queens, NY ) dropped in 16 and 13 points respectibely. Josh Kennedy (Westmont,NJ ) netted 12 points while Fantroyal dished out a team-high six assists in the loss.
