Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team played host to the William Paterson Pioneers today at the Athletic Center falling short 54-63. Ramapo falls to 9-6 overall, 1-3 NJAC while the Pioneers improve to 9-6, 4-1 in the conference.
William Paterson led the entire game shooting 21-52 (40%) from the floor ahead of Ramapo's 19-50 (38%). The Pioneers led by as many as ten in the first half while spreading the lead to 14 in the second. Senior point guard Kat McPhail (Sparta, NJ) led the way with 17 points while dishing out four assists and grabbing five boards. Junior Adrienne Kopko (Franklinville, NJ) posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds shooting 6-9 from the floor. Lucila Custis (Roselle, NJ) and Allison Mopsick (Manasquan, NJ) each netted seven points and Melissa Moore (North Bergen, NJ) and Meghan Ludgate (Palermo, NJ) added six apiece.
For the Roadrunners, junior JANINE CAPPADONA (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) led the team with 20 points shooting 6-13 from the floor, 3-6 from behind the arc while senior guard STEPHANIE PILLARI (Westwood, NJ) followed with ten and sophomore VANESSA VARGAS (Union City, NJ) netted nine. PILLARI and VARGAS combined for six assists. Rookie KEONA PALMER (Port Reading, NJ) led the team with ten rebounds.
