Mahwah, NJ: The Red Hawks of Montclair State hit four solo home runs in game two of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament defeating the Pioneers of William Paterson University, 4-2 in Mahwah. William Paterson drops to 23-10-1 overall while Montclair State improves to 32-7.

Lead off hitter, Diana Auteri (Lyndhurst, NJ) hit a home run to start the game and number three hitter Kari McDonnell (Wrightstown, NJ) blasted one of her own giving Montclair an early 2-0 edge. Pam Migliaccio (Rockaway, NJ) posted William Paterson's first run in the bottom of the 1st after walking to get on base. Erin McNeill (Little Falls, NJ) drove in Migliaccio and Mindy Coxe (Gloucester, NJ) stole home to tie the game. Montclair's Athanasia Totaro (Roseland, NJ) and Dana Sprague (North Arlington, NJ) each hit out home runs of their own in the 3rd to take a 4-2 lead. William Paterson was unable to fight back falling short two runs to four.

Montclair posted four runs on eight hits with one error while William Paterson tallied two runs on three hits with no errors. Auteri went 1-3 with one run and one RBI while McDonnell recorded two hits on four at bats with one and one. Totaro went 3-4 and Sprague went 1-3 each with one run and one RBI.

McNeill hit 1-3 with one RBI for the Pioneers. Rookie Maria Brown (Park Ridge, NJ) hit 1-3 and Katie Morris (Deptford, NJ) added William Paterson's third hit of the game.

Crystal Sweeney (Edison, NJ) earned the win improving to 18-4 with six strikeouts and one walk in seven innings pitched. Diane Catalano (Sayreville, NJ) recorded the loss striking out two, walking two, giving up two runs and four hits in 4 2/3 innings. Catalano falls to 9-5.

William Paterson will face Rutgers Camden at 11:00 AM while Montclair State will face the #1 seeded Roadrunners of Ramapo College at 1:30 PM.
