RAMAPO UPSETS THIRD PLACE STOCKTON, 71-66

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team faced the Ospreys of Richard Stockton for their final regular season game of the 2002-2003 season today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners defeated the Ospreys 71-66 improving their record to 13-12 overall and 8-10 in the NJAC, while Stockton falls to 18-7 overall, 14-4 in the conference.

Ramapo went 22-40, 55% from the floor over Stockton's 23-53, 43%. Ramapo lead by as much as 11 points in the second half, but Stockton came back to tie it with 3:32 left in the game. KATIE ARCURI (Staten Island, NY) hit a three to pull ahead and points by JANINE CAPPADONA (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) and VANESSA VARGAS (Union City, NJ) sealed the win for Ramapo.

For the Roadrunners, STEPHANIE PILLARI (Westwood, NJ) posted 16 points and four assists. VARGAS ended the game with 15 points, while CAPPADONA and ARCURI each had 12 a piece. ARCURI also had nine boards, three steals, and dished out four assists. Lone senior MELINDA DIODONET (Bogota, NJ) recorded 11 points, going perfect from the floor.

For the Ospreys, Christina Mason (Southampton, NJ) led the team with 23 points. Kelli Bakanowsky (Gibbsboro, NJ) had 17 points and four rebounds, while Takisha Pride (Palmyra, NJ) recorded ten points and six boards.
