Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team played host to the Bloodhounds of John Jay College today at the Athletic Center. Ramapo recorded their 5th win of the season defeating John Jay, 70-55 in Mahwah. The Roadrunners improve to 5-2 overall while John Jay falls to 1-4.

After opening the game 1-1, Ramapo went on a 10-0 run leading the Bloodhounds, 11-1 just over three minutes into the game. Ramapo led by as many as 20 in the first netting 35 points for a 35-15 halftime score. Ramapo sank 27-57 (47%) while John Jay dropped 22-62 (36%) in the game. Ramapo forced 29 John Jay turnovers.

Ramap was led by senior STEPHAINE PILLARI (Westwood, NJ) with 17 points and six rebounds while sophomores DANIELLE HUNT (Englewood, NJ) and KELLY BARTZ (Madison, NJ) recorded 16 points apiece. HUNT grabbed five boards in the game. PILLARI and BARTZ combined for nine assists and junior JANINE CAPPODONA (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) added four of hew own. CAPPADONA posted nine points in the victory.

For John Jay, December Bails (Brooklyn, NY) and Cherith Pointer (Brooklyn, NY) recorded 18 and 15 points respectively while Kieran Francis (Brooklyn, NY) added 12 of her own. Liesel-Ann Amow (Brooklyn, NY) dished out a team-high four assists.

Ramapo will travel to Montclair on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:00 PM.
