Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team fell short to the Lady Cyclones of Centenary College, 2-1 in overtime. Ramapo falls to 5-5-2 overall while Centenary improves to 7-3-0.
The score remained tied at zero until the 62nd minute when Silvana Espinosa (West Orange, NJ) ripped a shot from 15 yards out taking a 1-0 lead. Rookie MEGHAN FARRELL (Monroe Twp, NJ) tied the game at 83:48 when she was awarded a penalty kick. After ending regulation tied at one, Centenary was awarded a penalty kick of their own. Espinosa hit the back of the net defeating the Roadrunners, 2-1 in Mahwah.
Ramapo out shot Centenary 11-8 while sophomore netminder ANDREA ORTADO (East Brunswick, NJ) blocked four shots in just over 91 minutes. Michelle Burke (Pompton Plains, NJ) stopped three in the match-up.
The Roadrunners will travel to Lancaster Bible on Saturday, October 11th at 1:00 pm.
