Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team played their final regular season home game today at the Athletic Center dropping a 3-0 decision to the Ospreys of Richard Stockton College. Ramapo falls to 7-9-2 overall, 1-6-1 NJAC while Stockton improves to 13-3 overall, 8-1 in the conference.
The game remained scoreless until the 53rd minute when senior Kristie Abbott (Manahawkin, NJ) netted a breakaway goal to take a 1-0 lead. Mia Carratura (Kearny, NJ) capitalized on a pass from Megan Norcia (Brick, NJ) at 60:08 and Stasia Bardis (Toms River, NJ) added an insurance goal with :59 seconds left in the game shutting out the Roadrunners three goals to none. Melissa Doyle (Ocean View, NJ) dished out the assist for the final goal of the game.
Sophomore net minder CHRISTY TURNER (Ringwood, NJ) blocked six shots in the match-up while Osprey Becky Baisley (Brown Mills, NJ) made three saves of her own. Stockton out shot Ramapo 18-3.
Ramapo will travel to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, November 1st for a 7:00 PM start.
