Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team defeated Manhattanville College 3-1 today moving to 7-8-2 overall, while Manhattanville dropped to 5-9-1 overall.
Sophomore JESSICA STOVEKEN (Lyndhurst, NJ) posted Ramapo's first goal at 14:08, unassisted. Ramapo built a 2-0 lead after rookies DANA CHIPPONE (Marlboro, NJ) and AMY KETCHERSID (Point Pleasant, NJ) connected in the 42nd minute. The goal was CHIPPONE's fourth of the season, while KETCHERSID recorded her 1st assist of he year. Manhattanville came within a goal seven minutes into the second half when Amanda Buonomo (Westbury, NY) ripped a shot of her own closing the gap to one. Ramapo scored an insurance goal when freshman MEGHAN FARRELL (Monroe Twp, NJ) scored unassisted late in the game.
Sophomore netminder CHRISTY TURNER (Ringwood, NJ) played all 90 minutes recording one save. Manhattanville keeper Michele Ribiero (West Hartford, CT) stopped 12 of 15 shots in the game.
The women will host Stockton College this Saturday October 25th at 1:00 PM.
