Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team cruised by the Cougars of Kean University today at the Athletic Center, 9-0. Ramapo improves to 11-3 overall, 3-2 NJAC while Kean falls to 4-5 overall, 1-4 in the conference.
ANDREA TESTA (West Orange, NJ) defeated Marina Vaskovtsev (Montville, NJ) 6-1, 6-1 at first singles while rookie ERIN MCDOWELL (Prospect Park, NJ) faced Yeny de Dios (Perth Amboy, NJ) at second singles downing the Kean player, 7-5, 6-4. Rookies HOLLIS GRANT (East Brunswick, NJ) and JENNIFER MURPHY (Whiting, NJ) followed defeating the Kean women 7-6, (8-6), 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1 respectively. JOSIE TRIPODI (Cliffside Park, NJ) and TINA MULLER (Bedminster, NJ) rounded out the singles victories posting 6-3, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-2 wins respectively.
In doubles action, GRANT and MURPHY paired up at first doubles dropping Dios and Rosa DeJesus (Perth Amboy, NJ), 8-1. TESTA and MCDOWELL earned an 8-3 victory while LAUREN DOOLEY (Sayreville, NJ) and GABRIELLE GONZALES (Middletown, NJ) earned an 8-3 victory of their own.
