Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team defeated the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark 72-59 today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the NJAC, while Rutgers Newark drops to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC.

The Roadrunners shot 46% from the floor while Newark stood at 39%. Ramapo went 3-13 from three-point range to Newark's 5-17.

Senior MELINDA DIODONET (Bogota, NJ) scored a team high 13 points, with two assists and three steals. VANESSA VARGAS (Union City, NJ) contributed ten points and pulled down six rebounds, while CARLA COLUCCI (Emerson, NJ) dished out nine assists and netted eight points.

For Rutgers Newark Nicole Torres (Fairview, NJ) and Ginger Quinonez (East Newark, NJ) combined for 42 of the teams 59 points with 21 a piece. Quinonez and Christyal Anderson (Newark, NJ) each recorded 12 total rebounds in the game.

The Roadrunners will travel to Kean University on Saturday, December 14th at 2:00 PM.
