McDonough earns NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors for the fifth time this season after recording both a win and a save during the ECAC Metro Tournament. He first surrendered just five hits, two earned runs, and one walk, while striking out 11 in Ramapo’s 4-3 first round victory over third-seeded Mt. St. Vincent. He wrapped up his freshman season by tossing a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in the Roadrunners’ 5-4 Championship Game victory over top-seeded Richard Stockton. McDonough, who finished his freshman season with a 5-3 record and four saves, currently ranks second in the NJAC in both innings pitched (76.0) and strikeouts (78).
