Hughes earns the first NJAC Women’s Outdoor Rookie of the Week selection after traveling to Charlotte, NC to compete at the 49ers Classic hosted by UNC-Charlotte. In the first outdoor meet of her collegiate career, she placed 23rd in a field of 106 competitors in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.07. Paris also broke the school record in the 1,500 in a time of 4:47.06. The performance by Hughes currently represents the best NJAC time in the 800 meter event this season and the 32nd best time registered in all of NCAA Division III.
