Cathryn Smart's presentation this week has earned her NJAC Rookie of the Week honors. After a week of playing, this freshman volleyball player is averaging 2.53 kills and 2.12 digs per set. In the team's first game against Mt. St. Mary, she tallied nine kills and 17 digs in a 3-0 road loss. On the weekend, the Roadrunners traveled to compete in the Old Westbury Tournament where she recorded 11 kills and eight digs, trailed by three kills and three digs in 3-2 and 3-0 wins over Bridgewater (MA) and Maritime respectively. She ended the week with 14 kills and two digs, trailed by six kills and six digs in 3-1 and 3-0 wins over Old Westbury and Manhattanville respectively, leading her team to a 4-0 record this weekend. Smart is ranked eighth in the NJAC in kills.
