Rooney becomes the second Roadrunner to earn NJAC Rookie of the Week honors this season, along with Week 2 winner Jordan Myers. He paced Ramapo last week with 12.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game while shooting a strong 63 percent from the floor. He opened the week with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds in a setback to Rutgers-Newark. He grabbed three steals and committed just a single turnover in 37 minutes of action. In 40 minutes against TCNJ, Rooney scored 14 points on 7-for-10 shooting, pulled down six boards, and grabbed four steals. He is currently seventh among all NJAC players in conference-only rebounding (7.8 rpg) while adding 10.8 points per game against league foes.
