A five-time NJAC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week selection, Van Leeuwen earns NJAC Outdoor Field honors after traveling to West Point, NY to compete at the Dick Shea Open hosted by the United States Military Academy. He placed first in a field of 17 competitors in the pole vault with a school-record and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 4.95 meters. The performance by Van Leeuwen currently represents the best mark recorded in the pole vault in NCAA Division III during the outdoor season.
