Vargas earns NJAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week honors after traveling to Collegeville, PA to compete at the Ursinus College Pentathlon. He placed second in the event which consists of hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, and the 1,000 meter run, with a score of 3,102 points. The runner-up performance by Vargas established a new school-record score in the pentathlon.
