Coach Robert Brucken enters his first season as the Ramapo College Women’s Lacrosse head coach beginning in the Fall of 2018.
Coach Brucken has 20+ years of coaching experience and recently served two years as Head Coach at Immaculata High School, Somerville, NJ. He also coaches with T3 Elite Lacrosse in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Coach Brucken had started the North Portland Youth Lacrosse program while he lived in Oregon before moving back to his hometown of Lake Hiawatha, NJ in 2010. Upon his return, he realized that the great sport of lacrosse had yet to be introduced to Parsippany. It was at that time when Coach Brucken founded the Parsippany Youth Lacrosse Program where the Township was eager to participate. The program grew from 75 players to 250 players within the first five years where he was Director and a Coach during that time. Coach Brucken also sat on the Board Member of Parsippany/Troy-Hills Recreational Advisory Committee for four years and is currently a member of the NJ North Chapter of US Lacrosse Board as a Coaches Education & Training Chair.
Coach Brucken also owns, operates and trains players with his company Pyramid Lacrosse. Coach Brucken brings his passion and experience for Girls Lacrosse to Ramapo after several years of coaching, ranging from Youth Lacrosse and Football, Middle School Soccer to High School Football.
Coach Brucken’s coaching philosophy is based around developing the whole person, not just the player. This includes the importance of having a well rounded player including maintaining grades, treating one another with respect both on and off the field, always striving for improvement and honoring the game. He follows the philosophy of the Positive Coaching Alliance and Double-Goal Coaching.
