Coach Mike Eineker enters his 17th season as the head coach of the Ramapo women’s basketball team and 21st overall. During his tenure the team has earned six NJAC Tournament appearances (’09-’10, ’12-’13, ’13-’14, ’21-’22, ’22-’23, ’23-‘24) and five ECAC Tournament appearances (’10-’11, ’11-’12, ’12-’13, ’22-’23, ’23-‘24). Entering the 2024-2025 season, Coach Eineker has earned 171 wins at the helm of the Ramapo program and 257 wins in his coaching career.
The 2023-2024 squad posted a record of 18-11 overall and 11-7 in the NJAC while they won the ECAC Tournament Championship. Jackie Ventricelli earned back-to-back NJAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, NJAC Second Team All-Conference and ECAC All-Tournament Team. Jada Thompson was named ECAC Tournament MVP and NJAC First Team All-Conference.
Following the 2022-2023 season, Ventricelli was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, NJAC First Team All-Conference, All-ECAC First Team after leading the Roadrunners in scoring, steals, made three-pointers and made free throws.
Before coming to Ramapo he spent four years at the helm of the women’s program at FDU-Florham, where he led the Devils to a 61-48 overall record. In 2007-2008, Eineker led the Devils to a program-high 18 wins while they set the best win percentage in school history in 2005-2006 with a 17-9 overall record (.654). He led the program to three ECAC Tournament appearances, and two appearances in the Freedom Conference Tournament.
Before his tenure at FDU, Eineker coached boys’ basketball at Boonton High School, from the 2001-2002 season through the 2003-2004 season. In three years, he compiled a 36-31 record. In his first season, he took the team to the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament, somewhere they had not gone for six years. They went again the following year.
Eineker has gained a variety of basketball coaching experience, working at many different levels and institutions. He began his coaching career as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Princeton University for the 1995-1996 season, helping the Tigers to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament. Following his stint at Princeton, he served as an assistant coach with the women’s team at Lafayette College for two seasons, 1996-1998. He helped the Leopards to the Patriot League Championship Game in 1997. His first head coaching job followed, as he took the reins of the Bloomfield College women’s program from 1998-2000. At Bloomfield, he led the Deacons to CACC playoffs both years, winning the first-round game both times. Following that, Eineker took an assistant coaching position with the women’s team at Boston University for the 2000-01 season before moving on to Boonton High School.
Eineker graduated from Montclair State University in 1995. He played one year of basketball at Caldwell College. A Bloomfield High School graduate, he now resides in Clifton, NJ with his wife Amanda and their two sons, Patrick and Declan.
2024-2025 Season
