Coach Marissa Bariso joins the Ramapo College coaching staff for the first time in 2015, after completing her playing career at New Jersey City University last season. A former player for Coach Quimpo, Bariso was a NJAC All-Conference player who showed her leadership both on the field and in the classroom.
On the field, Bariso was a four-year member of the Gothic Knight softball team where she was named NJAC 1st Team All-Conference and ECAC 1st Team All-Conference in 2011. Bariso again earned NJAC All-Conference honors during her senior season, being named to the 2nd Team after leading the conference with a .733 slugging percentage. She collected NJAC Player of the Week honors her senior year and was tabbed by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as a Top Performer in April of 2014. She was a two-year captain in 2013 and 2014, and wrapped up her career standing at #2 on the all-time leader board for home runs with 21, #3 in slugging percentage at .551, #3 in career RBI with 96, and tied for #4 in career doubles with 38.
Coach Bariso was a three-time member of the NJAC All-Academic Squad and was a member of the Society of Leadership and Success at NJCU. She graduated in May of 2014 with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. Bariso currently resides in West Milford and is working as a special education aide at Jefferson Middle School in Jefferson, NJ.
