Mike Hrehovcik

Ramapo College alum, Mike Hrehovcik enters his third season as head coach of his alma mater in 2019.
 
The Roadrunners wrapped up the 2017 season with an 18-12 overall record including a 7-2 record in the Skyline Conference. Ramapo earned the #2 seed in the Skyline Men’s Volleyball Tournament before falling in the opening round to #3 Mount Saint Vincent in four sets. This was the Roadrunner’s fourth straight Tournament appearance. Justin Feigeles earned All-ECAC Division III South Region Honorable Mention while he and Nick Amos earned Skyline All-Conference honors. Fiegeles earned First Team while Amos earned Second Team. Terrance Cando, Mack Brower and Amos all earned Skyline Honor Roll for their efforts in the classroom.

The 2018 men's volleyball squad finished 2-21 overall and 5-8 in the CVC where they earned a #3 seed in the East of the CVC Volleyball Tournament. They traveled to Rutgers-Newark who earned the #2 seed in the East before falling in a tough matchup to the Scarlet Raiders 3-1 (25-57, 25-19, 18-25, 24-26). Sophomore Eric VanThuyne earned ECAC President's Honor Roll while senior Garrett Fitzsimmons earned ECAC Academic Honor Roll. Fitzsimmons was also named to the CVC Second Team All-Conference. Rookies Sean Burke and Tanner Depuyt, sophomores Mack Brower and Van Thuyne and junior Terrence Cando were all named to the CVC All-Academic Team.

Hrehovcik was a four-year member and captain of the Roadrunner team helping to lead Ramapo to 84 wins (2009-2012), a Metro Conference regular season championship (2009), a Molten Championship appearance (2009), an ECAC Championship Title (2012), and four straight NECVA/Skyline Championship Tournament appearances as a setter.  The 2009 team went 9-0 in conference play while together they combined for a four-year 38-6 conference record.  During his career, Hrehovcik collected more than 460 assists and sits at #14 on the all-time career record holder list.  He was named the team's Most Improved Player in 2010, while earning Coach's Award in 2011 and 2012.  He was also awarded the Robert A. Scott Sportsmanship Award in 2012.
 
Prior to coming to Ramapo, Hrehovcik spent time coaching high school volleyball at Randolph High School and most recently at Mahwah High School where he taught physics.  He has also coached club volleyball for Six-Pack boys.
 
While at Ramapo, he was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and graduated in 2012 with a degree in physics with a certification in secondary education.

Originally from Little Falls, NJ, Hrehovcik currently resides in Bloomingdale with his wife Caroline '13 and their daughter, Ava. He works at a data communications company called Distinctive Voice and Data.
