Maritza Melendez enters her second season as the head men’s volleyball coach.
Melendez guided the 2023 Roadrunner squad to a 20-12 overall record including a 12-2 record in the Skyline Conference where they earned the #2 seed in the Skyline Tournament. The Roadrunners advanced to the Skyline Championship match for the sixth time in program history and first since the 2016 season. Andrew Finnegan was named Skyline Men’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the year, Skyline and NJAC First Team All-Conference and AVCA All-Northeast Region.
Prior to Ramapo, coach Melendez spent a few seasons at the high school level coaching the boy's teams at both Hawthorne Christian Academy (2012-2014) and most recently West Milford High School (2022). She is also the assistant director of the Eclipse Volleyball Performance Club since 2020.
Coach Melendez played semi-pro women's volleyball for Puerto Rico while she holds her USA Volleyball CAP 1 and 2 along with FIVB level I certification.
