Coach Tommi Paavola is in his first season as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Ramapo College Swimming Team.
He brings 10 years of experience in training and conditioning athletes. He holds a Master’s degree in Sport Sciences from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. He has also studied Exercise Physiology in Leeds University UK and Outdoor Sport Guiding in Telemark College in Norway. Coach Paavola is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach C.S.C.S. from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Coach Paavola has developed training systems for optimal athletic development for various sports. His Movement Skill Development –program is being used by over 2000 sport coaches. He lectures internationally on topics such Functional Movement Training, Dynamic Warm-up and Activation and Youth Athletic Development. Coach Paavola also facilitates educational on-line courses for coaches and physical trainers through his own enterprise Discover Movement LLC.
Coach Paavola currently resides in Oakland, NJ with his wife and daughter.
