Coach Pedro Martinez joins the staff as an assistant coach for the first time this season after completing his collegiate playing career in the Fall 2008 season. After playing four years of high school soccer for Harrison, Martinez came to Ramapo College where he excelled not only on the field but in the classroom. In his four seasons as a Roadrunner, he helped lead the team to three post season appearances, including the NJAC semi-finals in 2007, and a 43-26-8 overall record.
A former Player of the Year recipient in 2002 and 2003, Martinez joined forces with fellow teammates in Harrison to earn the State Championship in those same seasons. He was also named 1st Team All-League and All-County, while earning All-State Honorable Mention honors.
Coach Martinez was a member of Ramapo’s Dean’s List holding a 3.5 grade point average and graduated in May with a degree in mathematics and a double minor in italian and spanish. He was a member of Italian Club and EOF and in 2007-2008 earned NJAC All-Academic Team honors.
