Stephen Sheppard enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Ramapo College men’s basketball team.
Coach Sheppard started his basketball career at Westfield high school as a player and went on to play college baseball at Fairmont State University. He graduated with a Board of Governors Degree with a concentration in Political Science.
Coach Sheppard started out with the IHM girls basketball program and helped lead them to five straight Garden State championships and to 100 wins. He coached AAU basketball for two seasons with the Hot Shots out of Union County. They complied a record of 32-4 with championships in both PA and NY.
Coach Sheppard also was the head junior varsity coach at Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ. The team was runner up two years in a row for the Hudson County Championships and recorded 36 wins in those two seasons.
During the spring season Coach Sheppard and All-American Boo Bowers coach AAU basketball, camps and clinics out of Union County . He is married to Gladys Sheppard and they have two kids, Shane and Summer.
