Coach Michael Snell comes to Ramapo with 25 years of coaching and playing experience at the high school, AAU, college and professional levels. Most recently he was in camp with the Brooklyn Nets D-League affiliate, Springfield Armor, as a talent evaluator and in-game camp coach.
For much of the past 20 years, Coach Snell has been an assistant to coach John Sterling at both Bogota and Secaucus High School. He has helped their girls teams win multiple league and section titles.
He played college basketball at William Paterson and was invited to USBL camps with the Long Island Surf and Westchester Stallions as well as the Morris Revolution of the EBA in the 1990's. Known primarily for his toughness and dedication to defense as a player, Coach Snell's passion for the game is contagious and he is a welcomed addition to the Roadrunner's staff for the 2013-2014 season.
Coach Snell is transitioning from a career as an entrepreneur after owning and operating LOUD Merchandise, LLC, a garment decoration company in business since 1999, into what will hopefully be a long and successful career coaching the game he loves. He is in the process of finishing his degree in business / finance and is on schedule to receive his degree in 2014.
Coach Snell and his wife Sharon have two children, son Shane, 6, and daughter Savannah, 3.
