Coach Ed Ward joins the Ramapo College coaching staff for the 2014-2015 season, after serving as an assistant coach to the Red Hawks’ basketball program at Montclair State for the past fourteen years.
With Montclair, Coach Ward helped lead the Red Hawks to 225 wins, and an appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2003, where the Red Hawks were upset by the Roadrunners, 89-80, in Whooster, Ohio. The Red Hawks made it to the NCAA Championship Tournament that season by winning the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship, and earning the league’s automatic bid to the tournament. The Red Hawks also reached the championship game of the NJAC in 2011. Coach Ward coached two First Team All-Americans during his tenure with the program.
Prior to his time coaching at Montclair State, Coach Ward spent eight seasons as head coach, first at Saddle Brook High School from 1991-1997, then with Pequannock High School in 1998.
